Monday Mixtape: A Korean Drama Soundtrack Playlist
You can say all you want about Korean dramas, but you can’t deny that it has some pretty awesome soundtrack from time to time. Of course, there are some whose outlandish OST makes you want to hurl, then there are those whose background track is the only thing you love about the drama. In fact, sometimes the only thing you remember from a drama you watched years back is that one song.
I have watched a fair share of Korean dramas, and after dozens of repetitive plots and 2D characters, there are some songs that have left their mark. While there are dramas that I loved dearly, there are songs that I loved just as much. Not all of them are works of art, but one way or another, they have made the dramas so much better. From mellows to upbeat tempos to teeny bopper music, Korean dramas won’t be the same without its gut-wrenching OSTs.

I'm glad "Touch Love" and "Hello Goodbye" are on the list. Fave songs at the moment, after seeing "My Love From The Stars" (Hello Goodbye) and "Master's Sun" (Touch Love).
Sometimes, I would get confused with the songs' melodies, 'cause the beat kinda sounds similar. ^_^
Nice!

Hi Raissa! I loved Touch Love from the first time I heard it. It's seriously so good and one of my all-time faves. 🙂
I think they often have a familiar beat because of their ~soundtrack~ quality. Some songs, even those that's not from an OST, just screams SOUNDTRACK to me. 🙂
Thanks!

Yes! So many good ones on here!!! There are also a few from dramas I haven’t seen, but one day I might get to them. Cruel City had some amazing OSTs as well! Hyun Bin’s version of “That Man” is the first K-pop song I ever bought! Oh the happy memories!
Janey
Hi Dewaani~ 🙂 I haven’t seen Cruel City yet but I plan, too. I love good OSTs!!! Sometimes they’re the only ~KPOP~ I listen to. Hehe. I think Hyun Bin started the trend in which the lead actor sings for the drama! 🙂

Well, if you like gangster noir, then Cruel City is great ^^ Jung Kyung Ho also delivers the performance of a lifetime. Seriously, one of the finest pieces of acting I’ve seen. Oh Binnie. My first K-drama love.
Janey
I love it in movies but I haven’t tried watching a gangster noir in a drama, but I’m willing to give it a try because I’ve read good reviews. Also: Jung KyungHo! 🙂

Right?! Jung Kyung Ho pretty makes anything worthwhile 😉 And it really was an excellent drama. My posts on it are also some of my all time favourite posts I’ve written ^^
Janey
Ooooh. I think I really have to watch it now so I can read your posts! Are they spoiler-free? 😛
dewaanifordrama
Haha, very much no. They are pretty much philosphical meanderings (in part) of the episode and in-depth character analysis…and stuff. A couple of them were joint conversations between bustered and me. And they’re full of screenshots…because I was more or less in love with the cinematography. I actually have never finished my final post on it…I need to get on that.
Janey
I guess I have to stay away from your posts then! 🙂 I hope I’ll have enough time to watch it next month. I’m a sucker for gorgeous cinematography in kdramas 🙂

ㅋㅋ yeah, I am not so good with spoiler free in my posts. The ratings page though is spoiler free. I ADORE good and beautiful cinematography. It is a weakness of mine. A good weakness though methinks.
